    JOE'S BIG RUN FOR GAZA

    Saturday 23rd August 10.00am Eastbourne Station. Joe will be running from Eastbourne to Rye, following the coastal path, which is an incredible 30 miles. Joe is running this to raise funds for Al-Mawasi. He's already raised an incredible £2,400 but we want to help him smash through his £3k target.

    Please consider donating here, meeting him along the way or welcoming him to Rye at the end..

    These are Joe's approximate timings: Leaving Eastbourne station at 10:00am; Reaching Cooden at 11:30; St Leonards 12.15; Arriving in Hastings at about 12:30; Pett Level for 2:00; Finishing at Rye at 3:00.

    HASTINGS TOWN CENTRE INFORMATION STALL

    Saturday 23 August 12.00 noon until 2pm Town Centre. Please visit and support our weekly stall. All the usual information, petitions, stickers plus keffiyehs, books,and badges.

    NO PRIDE IN GENOCIDE

    Sunday 24 August 11.00 The Stade. This year's Hastings Pride march will start from the Stade and head towards the Oval where there will be music and community activities.We'll be joining up with Hastings Queers For Palestine. Our theme will be: No pride in Genocide and No to Pinkwashing. Please join us. The Hastings Pride website.

    KNOW YOUR RIGHTS TRAINING
    PALESTINE PROTESTS AND THE LAW

    Wednesday 27 August 6.30 The Pig, TN34 1JZ. You are invited to a training session to learn about our legal rights on protests, and for anyone considering taking protest action which may lead to arrest. In recent weeks local Palestine campaigners have been arrested for chalking on the ground in Hastings, for selling badges with the slogan 'ban Starmer not Palestine Action,' and for taking part in protests in London against the proscription of Palestine Action.     RYE INFORMATION STALL

    Friday 29 August. 2 - 4pm. The cobbles at the top of Conduit Hill, where it meets the High Street. Please come and support our stall at Rye. All the usual information, petitions, stickers plus keffiyehs, books,and badges.

    HASTINGS AND AL-MAWASI FRIENDSHIP CELEBRATION

    Saturday 30 August 2pm Muriel Matters House, Hastings TN34 3UY.
    Please join us to celebrate the council's recognition of the deep friendship links between Hastings and Al-Mawasi. This will be followed by a family-friendly march to Warrior Square, ending with a reception at Hastings Mosque. Everyone is welcome to this day of celebration, uniting for peace and justice in Palestine, and celebrating two coastal communities in friendship and solidarity.


    Planned schedule:
  • 2pm Hastings Borough Council Offices, Muriel Matters House. Reception hosted by the Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Becca Horn.
  • 2.30pm: Family-friendly celebration parade from the Council offices to St Leonards Warrior Square for speeches (bring drums & instruments!)
  • At the end of the parade there will be a reception at Hastings Mosque, 12 Mercatoria, St Leonards TN38 0EB

    If you have a drum or other instrument that will add to the parade and the event at Warrior Square, please bring it along. Please share widely our Facebook event page and our Instagram page.

    EVICT GENERAL DYNAMICS FROM COUNCIL LAND

    Monday 1 September 6.00 pm Muriel Matters House, Hastings TN34 3UY.
    Join us at the Hastings Council Cabinet meeting for the public question time session from 6pm to 6.30pm, to ask Hastings Council to evict General 'Genocide' Dynamics from council land. General Dynamics, one of the world's biggest arms manufacturers, leases one of its sites from Hastings Council and the lease includes a clause that it can be revoked if they carry out 'illegal or immoral activities.'

    NATIONAL MARCH FOR PALESTINE - STOP STARVING GAZA

    Saturday 6 September 12.00 noon. Central London.
    The government is feeling the pressure to end its complicity in Israel's genocide but we must keep pushing until they take meaningful action and stop arming Israel. More information.

    SHUT DOWN DEFENCE AND SECURITY EQUIPMENT INTERNATIONAL (DSEI)

    Tuesday 9 September. Excel Centre, London E16 1XL
    The DSEI is where the defence industry, the military and politicians rub shoulders, where Israel has a pavilion and where the British government has always invited an official Israeli government delegation. Elbit Systems is a regular participant.

    A coalition of groups is calling for a mass blockade of the event on 9 September, the first day that delegates arrive. More information.

    LOBBY YOUR MP

    Wednesday 10 September 2.00 - 5.30pm. Houses of Parliament.
    This is the next PSC lobby day: "Join us lobbying MPs....to demand immediate sanctions against Israel." Details of how to lobby your MP.
