FUNDRAISING WALK FOR GAZA

Sunday 10 August 11.00am. The Stade. We're looking for a big turnout for Sunday's fundraiser walk. Our friends in Al-Mawasi tell us that our support gives them strength and means a great deal to them. We also know that the practical support we provide is making a real difference to their lives - providing food, water and shelter to many people who are completely destitute.

In Hastings, a tiny minority of pro-genocide extremists have been attempting to scare us off the streets in recent weeks, menacing businesses showing support for Palestine, making noisy and unpleasant appearances at our events and harassing families as they went about the previous fundraising walk at the end of July. This included a nasty verbal attack against one of our Jewish supporters. There was even an assault on a young woman who was wearing a keffiyeh.

But we won't be frightened into silence or stopped from showing our wholehearted solidarity with the people in Gaza who are being put through hell. That is why we are asking as many people as possible to join our next fundraising walk. Just be there at the start, walk some or all the way to Bexhill. Or join the welcome stall which will be set up at Bexhill De La Warr Pavilion just before 1pm to welcome the walkers a We stand united in the face of threats and violence!

STOP L3HARRIS

GENERAL DYNAMICS: STOP ARMS TO ISRAEL
HASTINGS COUNCIL: DITCH THE LEASE

Friday 15 August 8.00am until midday. General Dynamics, 100 Castleham Road, Hastings TN38 9NJ
We must keep up the pressure against all those responsible for the genocide waged against the people of Gaza - the apartheid state of Israel of course, but also the UK government and its complicity. And the weapons providers - companies such as General Dynamics which supplies the 2,000 pound bombs which are raining down on the people of Gaza at this moment. And who benefits from this armaments company? Hastings Council which holds the General Dynamics Lease. While it was great to see the Council's motion of 16 July calling on the government to stop selling arms to Israel, it is surely now time for it to ditch the lease.

We will also be protesting at the government clamp down of peaceful protests. The proscription of Palestine Action is an absolute disgrace, a hugely dangerous move by an authoritarian, draconian government that suppresses political dissent and protest. The crack down on peaceful protest reached its most absurd heights recently when Hastings police handcuffed and arrested one of our protesters for writing in chalk "Stop Genocide" and "Stop Arms to Israel" on the pavement at General Dynamics.

We won't be silenced. We won't be censured.

FILM SHOW: NO OTHER LAND

Thursday 21 August 7.30pm. Electric Palace Cinema, 39a High Street TN34 3ER The film shows the destruction of the occupied West Bank's Masafer Yatta by Israeli soldiers and the alliance which develops between the Palestinian activist Basel and Israeli journalist Yuval. "There's no embellishment, no forced emotional manipulation - just the infuriating truth. The film doesn't tell us anything new about war crimes, occupation, or the fight for Palestinian sovereignty. Instead, it shows us what those words truly mean for the people living them every day." The film will be shown in partnership between the Electric Palace and Hastings and District PSC. More information.
