    SATURDAY'S INFORMATION STALL

Saturday 11 April 12noon-2pm Outside Source Park, White Rock, Hastings. This Saturday, after the info stall has been set up and is in place, the following action will take place:

WITNESS CIRCLE FOR LIFT THE BAN ACTION

Saturday 11 April 1pm-2pm. Next to Source Park, White Rock, Hastings.
On Saturday thousands in London will defy the unlawful ban on Palestine Action by holding signs - and there will also be a similar action in Hastings.

Separate to this, we are holding a Witness Circle, inviting those who wish to show solidarity with those risking arrest to come and silently witness the action, and observe the police response on the day. All those who want to show their opposition to the repression of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly in this country are invited to join the circle, bringing their own signs in defence of peaceful protest or highlighting the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

This government is still an active participant in the genocide by providing military assistance, intelligence and diplomatic cover for Israel. Instead of introducing a two-way arms embargo and sanctions - as the majority in this country have demanded - this government has used terrorist legislation to silence and criminalize those standing against the erasure of the Palestinian people.

In February a Judicial Review ruled that this government's banning of the direct action group Palestine Action under terrorism legislation was unlawful on two grounds. Nevertheless, the government is challenging this ruling and the ban remains in place. Since the ban was introduced last summer, a campaign by Defend Our Juries to Lift the Ban has seen over 3,000 peaceful protestors arrested for holding signs reading: 'I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action,' including 23 people from Hastings and the surrounding areas.

The witness circle will take place between 1pm-2pm and all taking part are invited to show their support silently. Please share our Facebook event page and Instagram post.

LAST WEEK'S GOAT LEDGE FUNDRAISING STALL

Thanks to everyone who came to support last Saturday's fundraising stall for Al-Mawasi in Gaza. An amazing £947 was raised. This is much needed for a community that's still suffering with closed borders and has had Israeli bombing close by over the last few days.

What was noticeable was the great interest and support we found from members of the public; they really want to know more about a people who have had to suffer for so long under Israeli's genocidal policies. Thanks to all the hard work put in by our helpers, in particular all the hours put in behind the products at the craft stall, the cake made by our youngest helper particularly memorable.

HELP GAZA'S CHILDREN RECLAIM THEIR CHILDHOOD THROUGH SWIMMING

Amjed Tantesh's lifetime aim is to teach as many children to swim as possible. He has already made big progress with this pool in Deir al Balah. Since starting this project he has made plans to build swimming pools in other parts of Gaza. We will hopefully be working with Amjed with this year's Swim With Gaza, possibly in September. Please read and donate.

    COUNCILLOR PLEDGE FOR PALESTINE

The PSC is asking councillors to make a commitment to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people. The PSC will be building on this momentum in the May local elections in England where we will be calling on council candidates to pledge for Palestine. There are three steps that councillors are asked to sign:

Uphold the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people; Support efforts to prevent, and ensure accountability for, Israel's crimes of genocide, military occupation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid; Ensure my council is not complicit in and does not help to normalise Israel's violations of international law, including through the council divesting pensions and any other funds it administers from complicit companies and through its procurement policies.

    PLEDGE FOR PALESTINE.
