The video of local group Hastings Jews for Justice (HJJ) protest against Israel's planned execution law for Palestinians only has gone viral, with 125,000 hits on Instagram, now on YouTube. Veteran British artist Annie Lennox, who shared the video, praised the action as "moving example of how local activism can be incredibly powerful."

HJJ states: "Palestinians in Israeli prisons are already tortured, abused, starved and raped. They will be hanged. There is no appeal. This is state-sanctioned murder." HJJ asks for all Hastings and Rye constituents to add their name to its letter.

PETITION: URGE THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO STOP THE LAW ALLOWING THE EXECUTION OF PALESTINIAN PRISONERS

    COUNCILLOR PLEDGE FOR PALESTINE

The PSC is asking councillors to make a commitment to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people. The PSC will be building on this momentum in the May local elections in England where we will be calling on council candidates to pledge for Palestine. There are three steps that councillors are asked to sign:

Uphold the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people; Support efforts to prevent, and ensure accountability for, Israel's crimes of genocide, military occupation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid; Ensure my council is not complicit in and does not help to normalise Israel's violations of international law, including through the council divesting pensions and any other funds it administers from complicit companies and through its procurement policies.

    PLEDGE FOR PALESTINE.

PETITION: CALL A PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO PRO-ISRAEL INFLUENCE ON POLITICS & DEMOCRACY

A UK Government and Parliament petition: "We are concerned about reported Israeli state-linked and pro-Israel lobbying activity in UK politics. We believe it is important to determine the scope and impact of any such influence campaigns."

    SIGN THE PETITION.
