HASTINGS COUNCIL PASSES CEASEFIRE MOTION CALLING FOR END TO ARMS TO ISRAEL AND BACKING TOWN'S FRIENDSHIP LINKS WITH AL-MAWASI

Hastings Borough Council passed an historic motion on Wednesday to back an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to all arms sales to Israel and to support the town's deep friendship links with the people of Al Mawasi.

The successful motion comes after three previous attempts over the past 18 months to bring a ceasefire motion were thwarted, with one full council meeting last year completely abandoned by the then Labour mayor.

Thanks to everyone who supported this motion, wrote to their councillors or signed the twinning petition.

This news has been reported in the Canary, Skwawkbox and the Morning Star. Our press statement (Facebook). and on Instagram.
