SATURDAY'S INFORMATION STALL AND HASTINGS MOTHERS CIRCLE
12.00 noon until 2pm Wellington Place, town centre. All the usual information, petitions, plus badges, boycott stickers, and a range of keffiyehs, tea shirts etc. Please visit and support.
Alongside our stall Hastings Mothers Rebellion is organising a Mothers Circle 'for Palestine, Sudan, Congo and beyond.' More information.
NAKBA MEMORIAL DAY SATURDAY 1 JUNE
 Saturday 1 June. 12.00 - 6pm

You are invited to join us for a free, one day event of talks, film and activities to mark 76 years of Nakba.
The Nakba, Arabic for 'catastrophe,' refers to the ethnic cleansing of 750,000 Palestinians, three-quarters of Palestinian population, from their homeland in 1947/8, and the subsequent denial of their right to return.
For over 76 years, Israel's settler-colonial project has fragmented the Palestinian people by geography and legal status, denied Palestinian refugees their right to return to their lands, and entrenched a regime of control that systematically discriminates against Palestinians in all aspects of life.
Israel's current genocide is built on the foundations of this project.
Our free, one-day event is for everyone who wishes to deepen and broaden their understanding of this history and the contemporary situation. Please come for some or all of the programme - there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get involved.

PANGAEA: BENEFIT FOR PALESTINE
 The Printworks, 14 Claremont Hastings TN34 1HA. Sunday 26 May 8pm-midnight.
"Get ready to immerse yourself in the high octane carnival sounds of the Yeah Yeah Party Party Freedom Drummers (YYPPFD's), bringing their fusion of Samba, West African and Contermpory dance beats."

THE PSC HASTINGS AND DISTRICT JEWISH BLOC
A Message from our Jewish members:
Calling all friends of Jewish heritage!
The seemingly unstoppable, criminal tragedy of Gaza and the West Bank unfolds sickeningly before us every day while the movement for Palestine liberation swells on a global scale never before seen, including right here in our area.
And now that the General Election has been called there will be efforts to influence candidates and party representatives from pro-Zionist groupings. We need to let candidates and the electorate know that they are not "the" Jewish community and they do not speak for us.
To that end, we are forming a new grouping, a Hastings & District Jewish bloc for Palestine, to refute the false claims being made in our name that Jews will not be safe until all Palestinians have been killed or driven from their homes, and that speaking out for the rights of Palestinians constitutes antisemitism.
With an election now looming, never has it been more important for us to come together and raise our voices as Jews to say "Not in our name!" We're asking you to join us in a new PSC J Bloc. Our first meeting is Wednesday, 29 May at 7:00pm on Zoom to plan goals and actions. Contact Kathy on email below for the link. NATIONAL MARCH FOR GAZA - END THE GENOCIDE
Saturday 8 June. 12.00 Central London. Meet at 10am at Hastings Train Station to catch the 10.21 train to London.

SANCTUARY FESTIVAL SUNDAY 23 JUNE
12.00 - 6pm. Hastings Museum. The Sanctuary Festival returns to Hastings Museum, as a celebration of community and an act of welcome to all those seeking sanctuary and refuge in our town."Join us for a day of music, workshops, talks, activities for kids, food and friends." Organised by Hastings Community of Sanctuary. We will as usual have a stall there. Please come and support. More information: Facebook event page.
PEACE CAMP AT THE HASTINGS GENERAL DYNAMICS ARMS FACTORY
SATURDAY 29 JUNE - MONDAY 1 JULY
Hastings and District PSC is organising a peace camp at the General Dynamics arms factory over the weekend 29 June/1 July. We hope this camp will put public pressure on these war-mongers in our midst, and that it will also be an opportunity to educate and organise the anti-genocide majority in our town.
So we will have a schedule of events including musicians and speakers, and practical workshops such as learning about non-violent direct action, understanding legal rights of protesters, and banner making. This is also a chance to strengthen our community by bringing people together for food, music, children's activities, creative actions and lots of friendly chats over several days camping together! We would love to hear from anyone who would like to speak, perform or run a workshop during the peace camp. Please contact us to get involved.
We visited Liberation Square at Sussex University this week. It was great to see both the commitment and enthusiasm of the students and the well ordered structure of the camp.
