CANDLELIT VIGIL FOR THE CHILDREN OF GAZA

Tuesday 13 February 7 pm
Stade Hall, Hastings TN34 3DW

A call to show our love and respect for the children of Gaza.

While we grieve for the victims of Israel's genocidal attacks, it's important to show our solidarity with the people of Gaza; always to say that we are on their side, that we support them. We must double our commitment to supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people, calling for a permanent ceasefire and ultimately seeing that the Palestinian people be free from occupation and apartheid.

It's particularly important that we speak up now that Israel has begun bombing Rafah where 1.5 million Palestinians have already been put in to camps and tents, ethnically cleansed from northern and central Gaza.

We invite you to bring candles (in jam jars or electric tealights) to stand with us for a candle lit vigil. More information on our Facebook Event Page.

SHOW GAZA SOME LOVE. MEETING ON TWINNING WITH AL-MAWASI

Wednesday 14 February 7 pm Stade Hall, Hastings TN34 3DW

As we move closer to an official twinning between Hastings and Al-Mawasi in Gaza we would like to invite everyone who is interested in making any connection with people in Palestine to come along to this meeting and get involved.

Over the past 4 months our connection with Al-Mawasi has taken on a new significance as Israel attempts to literally destroy the whole of Gaza, so we've been organising constant fundraising for the basic necessities of life there, as well as taking part in the global protest movement to call for a permanent ceasefire and show them our solidarity.

We will be able to update the situation in southern Gaza. For example, the message we've just received from one of our language lesson pupils who has moved to Rafah: "A very dangerous and violent night has passed for us in Rafah and we are now preparing to be displaced for the fifth time."
