BOYCOTT APARTHEID ISRAEL : RAVENSIDE/GLYNE GAP

Last Saturday we spent the morning with shoppers talking about Israel's war crimes and one thing we can all do - Boycott. We were able to identify some of the products to boycott - avocados, figs, dates and Sabra humous at Tesco, Teva products at Boots and Hewlett-Packard products at P C World. H-P, the US based company, is complicit in Israel's crimes by providing computer hardware to the Israeli army and maintaining data centers through their servers for the Israeli police.

Thanks to our team who came out last Saturday to support the event. We had (as always) some very positive and rewarding conversations with members of the public.

The BDS list of target companies. (N.B. Puma is no longer on the list.).

    PICKET AT HUW MERRIMAN'S OFFICE

Bexhill and Battle MP Huw Merriman voted against a ceasefire in parliament 15 November. Residents in his constituency have shown that he won't answer emails about this issue.

We linked up with local GMB members to protest at Merriman's office.

Thanks to members of the public who came to support. And a special thank you to the local resident who provided us with tea and biscuits.

18-YEAR-OLD REFUSENIK JAILED FOR 30 DAYS

Tal Mitnick, an 18-year-old refusenik has just been jailed for 30 Days. Tal described the Israeli army as "bent on the oppression of the Palestinian people, and I refuse to take part in that oppression and instead fight against it in my activism." Article here.

Tal is part of a group of more than 200 high school students who announced in August that they would refuse to enlist due to Israel's occupation of Palestine. Interview with one of the group, Sofi Orr, who says that she refuses to be part of 'endless cycle of bloodshed.' Interview (YouTube).

    CHRIST UNDER THE RUBBLE

"This year Christmas celebrations are cancelled in Bethlehem." This is the powerful sermon given by the Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac at the Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. The church made headlines by depicting the manger in a pile of rubble (see video), symbolising the destruction and death of children caused by Israel's genocidal attacks on Gaza. "Leaders of the so-called "free" lined up one after the other to give the green light for this genocide against a captive population. They gave the cover....."    Christ Under the Rubble (YouTube).

Middle East Eye.    Electronic Intifada.    Al Jazeera.    Middle East Monitor.
