Locally there has been a tremendous amount of interest - with events at Eastbourne, Worthing, Brighton and Hastings. But this has become a truly international event with locations announced at Cape Town, Bethlehem, Malaysia, Kolios Skiathos in Greece, Praia de Carcavelos in Portugal, Oaxaca in Mexico, Johannesburg, three locations in New Zealand (which isn't bad seeing that's in the heart of winter over there!), USA (4 locations) and Ireland (3 locations).
More information about our event in Hastings on our Facebook event page, with articles in the Hastings Online Times and Hastings Observer.
There will be livestreaming from locations throughout the world along with videos and photos sent from earlier events (such as Malaysia). This will start at 3pm. Lots of information at the Swim With Gaza website.
We're monitoring the pollution levels closely. This morning the Environment Agency stated that there are 'no warnings in place' at St Leonards.
Help fund free swimming lessons in Gaza Swim With Gaza has set up a fundraising page to collect money for free swimming lessons for 100 children whose parents cannot afford to pay for lessons. Fundraiser.

Film show: 'Gaza' Wednesday 6 September 7pm The Pig, 37 White Rock, Hastings TN34 1JP
One of the directors of 'Gaza' Garry Keane wrote: "In the film, we reveal the beauty, colour, vibrancy and human warmth on display in Gaza. It really is an extraordinary and unique place and sadly, because of the blockade, Gaza is never properly seen by the outside world, who are fed only a one-dimensional view.
We believe this is the first time audiences worldwide will see Gaza as more than just a battle zone, and come to realise that, yes, Gaza is devastated by recurring conflict but is certainly not defined by it." Gaza uncovered - inside the acclaimed new Irish documentary. 'Gaza' 2019, 73 minutes
