newsletter july 2014
It is 10 years since the International Court of Justice (ICJ) stated that the Apartheid Wall is illegal under international law and should be torn down. Palestinian organizations are calling on people across the world to join efforts and make July the month of: Against the Apartheid Wall!
We will be bringing our replica Apartheid Wall to this year's St Leonards Festival. We hope to raise awareness about the Wall and its impact on the Palestinian people and their struggle for justice. On the day, we'll decide the most effective place to set up the Wall, but it will possibly be near the street market stalls in Kings Road. Please come along to say hello and show support.
The Festival is a 3 day event. The organisers describe Saturday as a "Family day. Street market, live music, crafts, nature zone."July/August
We're hoping to organise more events with the replica Wall and/or information stands in the town centre. Details to be announced later.

At a well attended meeting in May, Dr. Khader Abu-Hayyeh, who survived the massacre at Lydda (now Lod) as a child, gave a presentation recalling his personal experiences. Khader spoke of the Israelis machine-gunning 80 people sheltering in the Dahmash Mosque.
He was very clear in emphasising the Palestinians' right of return. In outlining the various options available to end the occupation, it was made clear that the only just solution is the the one state solution.
