Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign

Support Palestine this Christmas.

The Palestinian-led boycott movement has become stronger than ever. We have been emphasising some of the boycott targets.

1: Israeli Fruit and Vegetables.

Israeli agricultural exporters operate on stolen Palestinian land. We've found Israeli dates appearing at some local supermarkets. We are asking Hastings shoppers not to buy these Israeli products this Christmas.

Other boycott targets: Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard, Puma, Ahava & Sodastream. More information about the campaign, please download our leaflet: What Not to Buy This Christmas.

Donate.
Another way of supporting Palestine is to donate to some of the groups working on the front line.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
MAP works throughout Gaza, the West Bank and in the refugee camps in Lebanon. As a result of the Israeli bombing of Gaza and the targetting of demonstrators by snipers, the work of MAP is in urgent need of support. MAP has established a permanent limb reconstruction unit at Al Shifa Hospital. Since 30th March 2018, 5,793 people have been hospitalised with limb injuries alone. MAP website.

Other groups we have raised funds for are: Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and Defense for Children International Palestine (DCIP).

Conscientious Objectors - refusing to join the Israeli military.

It's important to recognise the bravery of these principled young people. We have in the past highlighted the cases of Noa Gur Golan, Tamar Alon, Tamar Ze'evi, Omri Baranes and Tair Kaminer.

Recently, 18 year old Adam Rafaelov has been sentenced for the 8th time, serving a total of 87 days in prison for refusing to join the IDF over its 'continual, violent, and oppressive rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.' Adam's story.

Boycott the Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Israel.

There is a growing movement calling on the BBC to withdraw from the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Israel, to avoid being complicit in Israel's ongoing violations of Palestinian human rights. Just days after Israel's Eurovision win, Israeli forces massacred 62 Palestinians in Gaza, including six children, as they demonstrated for freedom and refugee rights.

Israeli Apartheid = NOT Democracy.

Israel is becoming more brazen in its apartheid policies. If anyone isn't yet convinced that Israel runs an apartheid system, then this should do the trick: Knesset approves 200 communities where Arabs are banned.
