Great to see the Eastbourne Palestine Solidarity Campaign up and running. We wish them all the best. The branch has been holding monthly info stalls since May. Gaza - its economy is in "free fall."

"Israel is upholding the blockade as tightly as ever, preventing the flow of goods in and out of the enclave. Fishing is limited to three miles off the coast rather than the 20-mile zone agreed in the Oslo Accords. Hundreds of companies are reported to have folded over the summer." Useful article by Nazareth-based Jonathan Cook: As Gaza's economy collapses, so does any hope of peace.

'Cracks In The Wall: Beyond Apartheid In Palestine/Israel.'

Great meeting with author and analyst Ben White. While it seems that Israel continues with its policies of occupation and violations of international law with impunity, there are certainly 'cracks in the wall.' Amongst groups whose support Israel has always taken for granted - the US Jewish community, especially Jewish youth - there is growing opposition to Israel's policies. Another reason to be positive is the growth of the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Ben outlined the call for a single, democratic state. Ben's talk was followed by a very lively question and answer session. Thanks to Ben and everyone who attended. Ben White's website.
