Vigil for Ahed Tamimi!
Tuesday 30 January. 16.00 to 17.00   (4 - 5 pm).
Outside Debenhams, Hastings town centre.

16-year old Ahed Tamimi has been in an Israeli military prison awaiting trial for 6 weeks now. Her mother Nariman and her cousin Mohammed "Hamada" Tamimi are also in military custody.

There has been a call for action from a coalition of Palestinian organisations for Tuesday 30th January - the day before Ahed's 17th birthday. Despite the short notice, we think it's important to show as much solidarity as possible with the people of Nabi Saleh - and the Palestinians under occupation generally.

International support for Ahed is growing - this petition has received 1,336,000 signatures: Free Ahed Tamimi. A good source of information on Palestinian child prisoners is the Samidoun website.. Brief information about the arrest and the background in our last newsletter.

If you're involved with social media, please share this event widely. This newsletter can be shared.

Write to Ahed in prison: Ahed Tamimi, HaSharon Prison Ben Yehuda, P.O. Box 7, 40 330 Israel.

A week before Christmas, the Israeli military shot Ahed's 15-year-old cousin Mohammed (photo left) point-blank in the face with a rubber bullet. He was placed into an artificial coma for 72 hours; part of his left skull had to be removed by surgeons, with the bone to be replaced.

It was shortly after this that Israeli occupation forces invaded the Tamimi's courtyard. After pushing Ahed, she slapped the soldiers back. It was later that heavily armed Israeli soldiers arrested Ahed - in the middle of the night.

Saturday information stalls in Hastings

We've run weekly information stalls in Hastings Town Centre opposite Lloyds Bank every Saturday 12.00 'til 14.00 (2 pm) since 2014. This winter we've decided to set up the stall depending on the weather prospects - when it's raining/sleeting/very cold very few people are around in the town centre! Each week we'll decide on the Friday whether to go ahead or not - 'phone number to ring to find out: 07854 486794. Back to normal in the Spring.

Please come along to say hello and support us: any amount of time is appreciated.
