We will be running our weekly stall as usual. With all the usual information leaflets, the petition calling on Hastings Council to ditch the General Dynamics' lease, boycott stickers, keffiyehs, tote bags, books and badges.
Friday 24 July 2 - 4pm. The cobbles at the top of Conduit Hill, where it meets the High Street. Please come and support our stall at Rye.

Edinburgh Preview and Fundraiser for Gaza. Award winning Palestinian/Irish comedian Sami Abu Wardeh, presents a work in progress of his newest show "Sami Abu Wardeh Hates You." Come and see him test out his stuff in Hastings before it takes off.
All proceeds go to the Al-Mawasi Resilience Committee, a group of grassroots volunteers who organise community projects in Al-Mawasi, Southern Gaza. Ticket information.

STOP THE PROSECUTION OF RAJIV MENON - SAVE BRITAIN'S JURIES
No barrister in British legal history has ever faced contempt proceedings over the content of a closing speech. Yet Rajiv Menon KC, a barrister at Garden Court Chambers in London, now faces up to two years in prison for words recited by countless other barristers in numerous cases over the years.
In January 2026, Menon made a closing speech on behalf of Charlotte Head, a defendant in the first trial of Palestine Action defendants arrested at Elbit System's Filton factory in 2024. It was a brilliant, carefully crafted speech, following lengthy discussions with other barristers. The aim throughout was to make a fearless speech in defence of his client that was not in breach of any legal direction and simultaneously give her the best prospects of acquittal. That, after all, is a barrister's job.

FREE SWIMMING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN IN GAZA
This is a project we support that we really hope people can get behind. #swimwithgaza is working with and supporting this incredible project where pools are being constructed along the Gazan coast with boulders and sand bags forming mini-lagoon-like structures. So far five pools have been completed by Amjed Tantesh and his helpers. 9 more to be built. Amjed's life ambition is to teach as many children in Gaza to swim as possible.
The money is needed to pay the teachers, the support staff, meals for the children and for Amjed's helpers who are setting up and maintaining the pools.

The #swimwithgaza project will shortly be announcing the date of the international solidarity swim where we all leap into the sea, starting in News Zealand and finishing in west Canada. More information at its Facebook and Instagram pages.
