Boycott Puma Day of Action Saturday 12 February 12pm - 2pm

Outside Sports Direct, 1-7 Wellington Place Hastings TN34 1NR
Puma continues to sponsor the Israel Football Association (IFA) which operates in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land. While companies such as Ben & Jerry's have ended their involvement in illegal settlements, it's time for Puma to do the right thing and end support for Israeli apartheid.

There are more than 20 events taking place in the campaign against Puma in the UK this Saturday, but this has become an international campaign. This is a picket outside a Puma outlet in Boston, US: BDS Boston shuts down Puma (vimeo).

Join us in the town centre this Saturday to show support for the campaign to get Puma to end its complicity in Israeli's apartheid policies. Please share widely: Facebook event page.

Amnesty International declares Israel an apartheid state

Amnesty becomes the latest human rights group to call Israel an apartheid state. It recognises this as a crime against humanity under international law. The report, 4 years in the making, outlines a brutal and intentional system of fragmentation, dispossession, segregation, and oppression against indigenous Palestinians.

Article by Amnesty International: Israel's apartheid against Palestinians..
Ben Norton interviews Ali Abunimah of the Electronic Intifada. Ali shows the importance of solidarity: "The Palestinians are resisting in Palestine. And they have an absolute right to resist. But they need us to resist in the US, in Europe, and all the places that are the stronghold of the Israeli apartheid regime." Video: How Israel is an apartheid regime.

    Hastings Friends of Al-Mawasi, Gaza

  • Hastings-Gaza Language Link
We had our first online call for the Hastings/Al-Mawasi language link. 8 wonderful teachers and helpers from Hastings received a very warm welcome from Mrs Naheel (chair of the committee) and students in Al-Mawasi. Hopefully the beginning of great things!

Do you want to help Palestinian students learning English? Children and adults in Al-Mawasi in Gaza have signed up for English language classes over Zoom and we need more volunteers to meet demand. Whether you have experience of teaching English as a second language, or you are a native English speaker willing to have conversations to help students practice their English, please get in touch.

  • Fundraising Walk & Cycle
We are raising money to buy laptops and other equipment for the 'Safe Space' Community Centre in Al-Mawasi, to provide more opportunities for education and entertainment as well as international friendship and solidarity. Date, routes, more information to follow.
