Give Puma the Boot - Stop sponsoring the Israeli Football Association.

Thanks to everyone who came to support our recent 'Give Puma the Boot' picket. We joined the international day of action alongside events organised in Sydney, Wellington, Tokyo, Malaysia, Stockholm, France, Italy, Derry, Austria and throughout Britain.

We will be targetting Puma for as long as the company sponsors the Israeli Football Association, which includes teams based in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land.

Recent Israeli bombing of Gaza

Israel's recent bombing campaign of Gaza killed 32 Palestinians including children aged between 15 months and 13 years. Statement from DCIP (Defense for Children International - Palestine): "As long as the international community fails to hold Israel accountable for ongoing and repeated war crimes, we can only expect to continue seeing children's lifeless bodies being pulled from the rubble of their homes."       DCIP article here.

PSC research has found that UK Universities invest over £450 million in companies complicit in Israeli war crimes, including through supplying weapons and technology to the Israeli army. This database of all 151 UK universities investments: University Complicity Database.

Saturday information stalls - in Hastings and Rye.

Hastings
Our weekly information stalls are in the Hastings town centre outside Debenhams.
Saturday 12.00 - 14.00 (weather permitting).

Rye
We run stalls on the cobbles at the top of Conduit Hill, where it meets the High Street. 11 - 1 pm. For information about our next stall (or for anyone in the Rye area who wants to help out), please email.

Protesters against Israeli drone giant Elbit facing trial

Elbit's subsidiary Instro has a factory in Kent which was closed down for 2 days earlier in the year. Article here. This is the crowd-funder to cover the activists' legal costs: Solidarity for the Elbit-Instro 7! All Israeli armament factories on our doorstep need to be opposed. Hastings PSC members and supporters have been involved in the closing down of the Kent Instro factory in the past.

UK government stops councils investing ethically

On November 20th the PSC challenged the UK Government again in an attempt to overthrow the ruling that stops Local Government Pension Schemes from divesting from companies complicit in Israel's abuses of the rights of Palestinians.
