Fundraiser raffle raises £1039 for MAP

Thanks to everyone who supported our online fundraiser for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). It was more than just a raffle - we had a Bach recital by cellist Tibah Saad from the Galilee, a traditional Palestinian folk song from Najlaa Hmeed in Gaza, and a theatre performance by four school children in Gaza.

The event couldn't have gone better. It was our first attempt at such a feat - coordinating participants from 5 different locations in Gaza, Glasgow, Devon and hosted from a village near Rye.

Tibah and Najlaa's performances were made possible by PalMusic which has close links with the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music. Actresses Yara, Samah, Ghazal and Hala, aged 12 -14 from Gaza performed an example of 'remote theatre' which is becoming popular through the Covid period, but well established in Gaza because of 13 years of Israeli blockade. The play was made possible by the Hands Up Project.

A special thanks to all the local businesses and individuals who contributed prizes.

The chance to win big in our 2020 Online Raffle for Medical Aid for Palestinians [MAP]

This year we're holding our annual fundraiser for the amazing British charity Medical Aid to Palestinians (MAP), which provides immediate medical aid to Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.

Right now in Gaza their teams are on the ground providing respirators to patients in hospital, hygiene kits for quarantined families, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health workers, COVID-19 testing kits and antiseptics to help prevent spread of the disease.
