Regent Street, St James, London near Pall Mall to the Israeli Embassy. Saturday 7 September 12 noon. Catch the 10.31 train to London. If you would like to go but need help towards the cost of a ticket, contact us directly. We match donors with marchers. More information.

ONLINE MEETING WITH MEMBERS OF THE AL-MAWASI RESILIENCE COMMITTEE

Sunday 8 September 1pm. This will be an important opportunity to learn how the people in southern Gaza have been dealing with eleven months of Israel's genocidal onslaught. A chance to hear the latest from members of the Al-Mawasi Resilience Committee, the drilling of the second well, the recent Israeli bombing of the area. Contact us for meeting details.

ZOOM CALL WITH PALESTINE - BUILDING SOLIDARITY WITH THE WEST BANK

    Thursday 12 September 6pm.
The largest invasion in the West Bank this week since 2002 is a reminder that Israel's expansionist goals do not end with Gaza. The ethnic cleansing of Palestine is rapidly escalating, which is why we must build and strengthen our links across the West Bank.

Please join us to hear courageous activists describe the reality they are facing right now of violent repression, settler violence, and the constant threat of military detention - and hear their proposals for co-ordinated global actions including protests, legal work and educational campaigns. Whether you are an individual campaigner or a representative of an organisation, join the discussion about what you can do to support global action in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for justice. Register for meeting via this link.

BDS (BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT AND SANCTIONS) TOUR

Saturday 14 September. Ravenside Shopping Cenre. Join us for a tour of Ravenside retail park to see how we can exercise our consumer power to boycott Israeli apartheid. We will be highlighting the goods and products on our high streets that go towards supporting the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands, ethnic cleansing and apartheid.

The boycott movement has been clocking up some huge wins recently - Puma stopped sponsoring the Israeli football team, AXA dropped investment in Elbit Systems and other Israeli firms and Intel ditched their plan for a multi-billion pound site. More information about the tour. Previous tours: Hastings town centre and Ravenside.

'ONE STATE - THE FUTURE FOR PALESTINE-ISRAEL' WITH GHADA KARMI

White Rock Hotel. Saturday 21 September 2.30pm. We are thrilled to be hosting British Palestinian doctor, activist and author Ghada Karmi on the topic of her latest work: One State: The Only Democratic Future for Palestine-Israel, a bold, incisive and necessary effort to set out a positive vision for the future.

Ghada and her family in Jerusalem were among the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who were exiled during the Nakba. She has since become one of the most vocal proponents of the single democratic state in Palestine-Israel. More information about the meeting.
Discounted copies of Ghada's book are available at our information stalls and at the meeting (see below).

NEW WEBSITE FOR HASTINGS JEWS FOR JUSTICE

Hastings Jews for Justice continues to grow and develop, with the launch of their new website. The group held an informal potluck social gathering this week where there was plenty of food and lively discussion. They encourage all those who identify as Jewish or of Jewish heritage who want to find out more to get in touch at HJ4J email.

STOP ARMING ISRAEL - END THE SALE OF F-35 COMBAT AIRCRAFT PARTS CURRENTLY USED IN GAZA

On Monday 2 September, Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced that 30 arms export licenses to Israel will be suspended. This decision is testament to the tireless campaigning efforts and enormous public pressure of recent months, but it does not go far enough.

The government suspension of exports to Israel must apply to all weapons including components for the F-35 combat aircraft currently being used in the genocidal assault on Gaza.

Please sign this petition to call for a complete end to the arms trade with Israel including the indirect supply of parts for the F-35 combat aircraft.

BOOKS AVAILABLE AT OUR STALLS AND MEETINGS

Now available at our stall, three great books to deepen our knowledge of the history of Palestine and Israel. We're grateful to Lee at Printed Matter in Hastings, for generously discounting the price for us in support of the work of PSC.

  • One State - The Only Democratic Future for Palestine-Israel by Ghada Karmi. £12. This profound and important analysis of the future for Israel-Palestine has never felt more necessary or urgent. Ghada Karmi, whose family were exiled to Britain during the 1948 Nakba, makes the powerful case here for uniting the land to create a just future for all Palestinians and Israelis, and allowing the Palestinian right of return.

The best-selling author of In Search of Fatima has lost none of her eloquence in this bold and engaging treatise which lays out the instability at the heart of the Zionist state, examines its impact across the region, and analyzes the decades of work to present a workable 'solution,'

In the end she is unequivocal in her view that, however impossible it may appear, the current apartheid ethnocentric state will be replaced by one democratic state, asserting: "The fact that something is difficult to realise does not make it any less the right thing to do."

And, moreover, the concept itself must be long-established "not as an immediately attainable goal perhaps, but as a vision, an aspiration and a belief in the ultimate humanity of Palestinians and Jews and all those who wish to see them prosper."

  • The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (Oneworld, 2007) £13 by Ilan Pappé, renowned Israeli historian, scholar and author who was forced from his position at the University of Haifa after publishing this book, and is now Professor of History and Director of the European Centre for Palestine Studies at the University of Exeter. In this book he exposes the facts behind the Nakba of 1948 with meticulous research into Israeli archival documents, making clear that ridding the land of its Palestinian inhabitants was always central to the founding of the State of Israel.

  • The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017, Rashid Khalidi (Profile Books, 2020) £12. Khalidi is Palestinian American and the Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University in New York City. He tells this history from the perspective of his own prominent Jerusalem Muslim family using his family's extensive archives in Jerusalem, along with multiple other sources, documenting the extensive Palestinian resistance to colonization that began with the arrival of European Jews to Palestine and has continued to the present.
