'I DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY THAN TO TELL THE TRUTH'

HUGE THANKS to Professor David Miller who addressed our packed meeting today: Why Can't We Talk About Palestine? A talk with Professor David Miller.

It was a truly illuminating and thought-provoking talk by Professor Miller who has made the most of his 18 months away from Bristol University to research and investigate the Zionist movement in this country. Ironic, considering he only gave one lecture when he was at the University of Bristol where he talked about Israel.

As he put it: 'I barely mentioned Zionism!'

Our full report to come will include Professor Miller's:

  • ANALYSIS of the size, breadth and aims of today's Zionist movement.

  • ADVICE on how the Palestine solidarity movement can best target its efforts against Israeli war crimes.

  • INSIGHT into the changing nature of the geopolitical world.

Professor Miller, who has been a university lecturer for 36 years in Scotland and England, has been 'persona non grata' since being fired by Bristol University following a concerted campaign by Zionist groups, despite being cleared of anti-Semitism twice by two independent, QC-led investigations.

'They don't like me because I talk the role of the Zionist movement outside of occupied Palestine,' he said. 'I talk about the support mechanisms that allows them to continue to abuse the Palestinians every day.'

He is fighting his dismissal with an industrial tribunal set for October.

He added: 'I have people telling me I'm very courageous, but really, it's not about courage. All through my career I came to believe in the idea that you could find out the truth about the world by doing research. I'm an empirical sociologist, I'm not a theoretical sociologist.

'Once I found this stuff out, I couldn't not say it because that would be against science. All I've tried to do is do research and report it. I don't know any other way than to tell the truth about my research.'
