Fly kites not drones.
Saturday 1 October 11.00 - 11.30. The beach opposite The Carlisle.

Bring kites, family and friends to protest the use of armed drones. Organised by Hastings Against War. "Britain, the US and Israel have used armed drones in Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Gaza, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Somalia."

Hastings Local Quaker Meeting: Towards a Compassionate Response To The Palestine-Israel Conflict.

A Study Day in the Quaker Meeting House, 5 South Terrace, Hastings, TN34 1SA.
10:30 for 11am, ending at 3:30. Saturday 15 October 2016.

Ben White: 'Israel: 21st Century Apartheid.'
Author Ben White gave a thorough background to the emergence of the apartheid state of Israel. This was followed by a very lively question and answer session. It was good to see such a good turnout - thanks to Ben and everyone who came to the meeting.

Hastings Campus (Brighton University) Freshers' Fair.
We had a very busy and lively day at the Freshers' Fair. Lots of interest in what we can do locally to support the Palestinian people against the occupation.

The UK 'Prevent' programme - Stifling freedom of expression.
Really pleased that the university students are organising against the 'Prevent' programme: Preventing Prevent. There are a number of actions by students and lecturers coming up over the next few months. Hastings PSC supports the 'Together Against Prevent' campaign: website details.

Women's Boat to Gaza.
Two sailing boats crewed by women heading for Gaza in protest at the continuing blockade.

"The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has launched the Women's Boat to Gaza because we believe that it is essential to highlight the vital role women play not only in the resistance movement, but in the survival of the Palestinian people as a whole." Hastings PSC fully supports the WBG and has endorsed the project.

Celtic fined €10,000 by UEFA - for waving Palestinian flags.
UEFA fined Celtic because its fans were displaying an "illicit banner" during a match against Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva. Meanwhile Celtic fans have raised over £172,000 - half of which will go towards MAP's projects providing medical care to Palestinians living under occupation or as refugees. We run the information stall every Saturday 12.00 'til 14.00 (2 pm) in Hastings Town Centre opposite Lloyds Bank.

Please come along to say hello and support us. You don't have to come every week or stay for two hours but any time is appreciated.
