  • Over a hundred years ago Britain's Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour set in motion the vision of Israel. His 'Balfour Declaration' had another, disastrous impact: the dispossession of the Palestinian people.

From Balfour to Banksy sets out to examine the legacy of the Balfour Declaration, taking in a wide range of voices and views from Occupied Palestine.

It also looks at the vision of another Englishman: contemporary artist Banksy, who has created in Palestine a hotel that is also a remarkable satirical art installation.

In this raw, uncompromising look behind the 'security wall,' this extraordinary account brings to the big screen the rarely heard voices of modern Palestine and looks at alternative visions of a future for the people there. Finally, it asks - what change must come?

The Hastings & Rye Palestine Solidarity Campaign is pleased to host the Hastings premiere of this unique, independent film, written and directed by Martin Buckley.

Producer Miriam Pinch will join us afterwards for a Q&A, followed by refreshments including mint tea, Arabic coffee and Palestinian cakes and pastries.
